When someone close knows where you are in your cycle, it's easier for them to look after you. And you don't have to explain every time why today you just want warmth and quiet. You can tell them in words, or invite them to your Circle in HeySis. You decide who to invite, and you can remove access at any time.

How do I explain PMS without it sounding like an excuse?

Most women have PMS at some point: mood swings, irritability, tiredness, bloating, sore breasts. It usually eases once your period starts. Sleep, exercise and smaller, more frequent meals can help.

Talk about what you need today, for example "Right now I need warmth more than advice" or "Could you take care of dinner?" That gives your partner something clear to do. And if you hear "it's just your PMS again", say plainly that the phrase hurts, and name what would help instead.

What will someone in your Circle see?

Your Circle gets your phase, your cycle day and roughly how long until your period. It also gets the mood and "wants" you log, today's card if you drew one, and your star sign if you gave your birthday. A partner also sees an estimate of your fertile days, when one can be worked out.

If you've marked a pregnancy, your Circle sees the week. Your symptoms, diary notes and chats with Mia are never shared. Your status updates whenever you open HeySis.

How does Circle help them support you?

Next to your phase, they see ideas for supporting you right now, like offering a hot-water bottle, tea and a blanket during your period. They can also answer your mood with a reaction, like a hug or a "you're strong". A partner without a cycle of their own in HeySis gets all of this for free. A friend using HeySis for her own cycle sees your phase, mood and wants for free, while your cycle day, daily card, tips and sending reactions come with a subscription.

If you're trying for a baby

Your partner sees the fertile-day forecast too, so you don't have to be the one who keeps reminding them. The forecast is an estimate, so it's more reliable to have sex without contraception every 2 to 3 days than to aim for one day. That way, more than 8 in 10 couples where the woman is under 40 conceive within a year.

Common questions

What if my partner doesn't get it?

Start with one clear request: "When I have cramps, it really helps if you handle dinner." With a request like that, your partner knows exactly what to do. And you can share without the app, just by talking.

Who can I invite?

Your partner and as many friends as you like, including your sister or mum. A partner doesn't need to track a cycle of their own: they install HeySis and open your link or enter your code.

What if I change my mind?

Remove them from your Circle at any time, and the link disappears for both of you. Whatever they've already seen will stay in their memory, of course.

In short

  • Swap hints for one clear request
  • You can invite a partner and friends to your Circle
  • You can remove anyone from your Circle at any time
